Blyth-Templeton Academy voted a top DC high school by readers of Washington City Paper

Coming up on the end of Blyth-Templeton Academy's third year since opening on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, readers of Washington City Paper voted it one of the 3 best high schools in the DC area. Other top schools included DC International and Woodrow Wilson High School.

We are proud as can be of this honor and incredibly grateful to the many families, students, school counselors, and neighbors on Capitol Hill and throughout the Washington region, who have voiced their enthusiastic support.

Blyth-Templeton Academy is a micro-high school, which means our total enrollment (grades 9-12) will never exceed 150 students, and the average class size will always be about 8 students. Students take just two courses each term (4 terms) and spend 2.5 hours in each class per day.

This block scheduling allows for in-depth exploration of a topic, many excursions into DC for place-based learning, and opportunities for students to engage in meaningful Socratic discussions while they grapple with challenging concepts or test out theories in pop-up labs.

Our commitment to "small" is only in numbers such as these, as our vision is large and we are dedicated to providing the kind of enriched educational experiences for our students that can lead to limitless future possibilities and a love of lifelong learning

It's an exciting educational model, and our families, friends, and supporters have affirmed what we've believed from the beginning. BTA is a winner.

There are still openings for new students in September, 2018. It should be noted, however, that an increasing number of families have submitted Interest Forms for school years as far ahead as 2021. Anyone who is curious to learn more is advised to get in touch and begin the conversation.

Thank you again to all who voted for Blyth-Templeton Academy. If you have not yet visited us in our home at Hill Center, we invite you to do that soon
